Jordan Thompson has demonstrated consistent improvement on grass over the past few years, and he has continued to excel in 2023. However, it seems that he may have peaked too early during the grass swing this year. While he reached the semifinals at the Surbiton Challenger and made it to the final at ATP 's-Hertogenbosch, his performance declined in his last two tournaments in London and Mallorca, where he was only able to win a combined total of two matches.

Some of the most significant victories in the Australian's career have come on grass, particularly on English grass. One notable achievement was his upset of the then-world #1 Andy Murray in London back in 2017.
