Katie Boulter started the grass swing with a semifinal at W100 Surbiton before winning the big prize in Nottingham. She did not meet a top 130 player but won all five rounds in emphatic straight sets to become a first-time WTA champion and return to the top 100 for the first time since the onset of a back injury in 2019.

After nine months, the Aussie returned to action in Birmingham and picked up a single qualifying win (d. Madison Brengle).

The former top 20 player missed almost the entire 2020 and 2021 seasons and was in the middle of a strong comeback in 2022. Most notably, she was able to reach a final in Granby, a semifinal in Washington DC, and quarterfinals in Miami and Guadalajara, to return to the top 100; now she will have to do it all over again.
