The penultimate game of the penultimate Bundesliga round will witness a battle of epic proportions with potentially season-defining implications for both Augsburg and Borussia Dortmund. Starting with Augsburg, they can mathematically secure safety ahead of the final day with a win in this match, although the pressure could be off by kick-off if results elsewhere go in their favour.

Whether that’s the case or not, the Bavarians will hope to improve on their rotten run of one win across the last nine rounds (W1, D4, L4), although the sole victory in that sequence did come in their most recent home game against top-four hopefuls Union Berlin. Edin Terzić is under no illusions that his men must extend their current unbeaten run (W4, D2) by first ending their rotten six-game winless away run (D3, L3) and hope the football gods grant them a reprieve in the form of Bayern dropping points in either of the remaining rounds.
